How many 30 mg oxycodone can I take?


Adults—10 to 30 milligrams (mg) every 4 hours as needed. Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed. Children—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.


It's currently available as four different brand-name medications: Oxaydo (immediate-release [IR]* tablet) Oxycontin (extended-release [ER]† tablet) Roxicodone (IR tablet)


Nausea, vomiting, constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur. Some of these side effects may decrease after you have been using this medication for a while. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.


A drug used to treat moderate to severe pain. It is made from morphine and binds to opioid receptors in the central nervous system.



Do not take more than 40 mg of OxyContin in one dose or more than 80 mg of OxyContin in one day unless you are “opioid tolerant.” This may cause you to stop breathing and may lead to death.


OxyContin, a trade name for the narcotic oxycodone hydrochloride, is a painkiller available in the United States only by prescription.


What organs is oxycodone hard on?

During oxycodone addiction, liver and kidney function can begin to falter leading to failure and/or liver and kidney diseases. Because oxycodone is a sedative, it can also have an adverse effect on the respiratory system, causing respiratory ailments and other problems.


Standard oxycodone takes 30 to 60 minutes to work, but this wears off after 4 to 6 hours. Slow-release oxycodone can take 1 to 2 days to work fully, but the pain relief will last longer.



Dosage and strength


Oxycodone comes as: capsules containing 5mg, 10mg or 20mg of oxycodone – usually taken 4 to 6 times a day. standard tablets containing 5mg, 10mg or 20mg of oxycodone – usually taken 4 to 6 times a day.


Acetaminophen (paracetamol), when taken in reduced doses (maximum 2–3 grams per day), is generally considered to be the safest pain relief option for your liver
